Rachid Arrum
Rachid Arrum was born in Morocco in 1972. He emigrated to the Netherlands at the age of eight.
After working in the metal industry for many years, he became incapacitated in 2019 as a result of an industrial accident. He received art therapy to process the trauma. This showed that he has a talent for translating his emotions into visual art.
Moreover, he enjoyed it so much that he has since started painting almost daily as an autodidact. In doing so, he has developed a uniqueness that is embraced by art connoisseurs worldwide.
His work is characterized by a dynamic mix of colors, abstract shapes and complex compositions that have an emotional impact. You immediately understand that there is a deeper layer in the works.
Due to his autodidactic learning style, you see the freedom of technique in his paintings. Much of his work is characterized by penetrating eyes that look at you, which makes it feel immediately confrontational to take in his work.
